Nestled deep in the SouthWest Mountains, there lies a small village surrounded by steep peaks, a natural barrier that has kept its residents isolated from the rest of Veargreum. This village is built around a small lake, and is home to a diverse mix of races, all united by their anti-imperialist beliefs and their deep connection to the crystal that lies at the heart of the village.

The crystal has imbued the villagers with a special power, the ability to teleport short distances, and they have honed this skill into a formidable fighting style. However, there is a noticeable gap in their population, as those between the ages of 16 and 20 are often not seen. This is due to the villagers traveling out sometimes vast distances to other civilizations to learn new trades and bring back items and knowledge to their people.

The village operates under a role or caste system, with those who travel known as "Travelers". They worship the Gem Umbra, a powerful entity that guards the mountains and protects their home. The shamans of the village are able to communicate with the Umbra through the crystal and keep their people safe.

The food in the village is a staple of fish that is dried using salt from nearby caves, and the fruit known as Varchuella, which only grows in the area around the lake, is used in their cuisine. The crystal has a magical effect on the food, enhancing its flavors and making every meal a celebration.

The land surrounding the village is just as remarkable as its people. The area was formed when the crystal's magic raised the terrain to protect it from those who would do it harm. Under the crystal, there lies a cavern of crystals arranged like roots, illuminating the wide passageways.

The environment has been shaped by the crystal's magic, with a bamboo forest, a salt mine, and a lake filled with blink fish, making fishing a challenging but rewarding endeavor. The relatives of the Fruffs, known as Mouflon, also call this place home and live amongst the villagers, adding to the richness of the culture.

The crystal village is a place of magic, mystery, and wonder, where the power of the crystal and the spirit of its people combine to create a truly unique and special community.
