Creature CollectionViscerath stands as the counterforce to Vuntur, the goddess of balance between life and death. While Vuntur safeguards the natural cycle, Viscerath rebels against it, believing that nothing should ever truly rest. They were the first to discover and wield necromancy, viewing death not as an end, but as an opportunity to elevate beings into a "higher form of life" through undeath. This perversion of the natural order enraged Vuntur, who, with the aid of her divine children, ambushed and killed Viscerath. But in doing so, they unwittingly granted Viscerath exactly what they desired—becoming the first undead god, with power greater than ever before.
Buried deep beneath the crust of Crius, far from life’s reach, Viscerath remains imprisoned. Yet, as an undead deity, their necromantic influence only grew stronger. Even now, from their prison, the haunting pulse of Viscerath’s still-beating heart echoes beneath the surface, and the whispers of twisted creatures slither through the deep. Their necrotic power seeps through the cracks of the world, corrupting the surface above. Graveyards where spirits rise and the dead stir are often signs of Viscerath's meddling from below.
The gods’ greatest victory, however, was the creation of the Shrouders—an undead race born of Viscerath’s dark magic. While Viscerath remains contained, their influence still lingers, a constant reminder of the god who defies the very cycle of life and death.
