Creature CollectionCombat: What to expect!
Battles are run using a simplified Dungeons & Dragons system. First, roll for initiative! Then, decide which weapon, spell, or item to use. Players may choose to deal damage, heal themselves, alter their stats, or flee during their turn. We've implemented an AI that will ensure that every enemy you face feels unique. Some foes will be more intelligent, some will be better armored, and others will have stronger spells and weapons. Our hope is that combat continues to feel fresh and exciting, and keeps players on their toes - ready for anything!
The ultimate test of skill and strategy! Enter the SOCRPG arena and challenge your friends to a duel. Dueling is a two-way street, and both parties must accept the challenge for the battle to begin (you can rest assured that no one will be able to attack you without your permission).
PVP: Dueling your friends
Dueling offers a chance to showcase your abilities and earn in-game currency if you're betting. While players cannot earn experience points, duelers can bet their hard-earned gold on the outcome of the battle - and to the victor go the spoils. Test your mettle and gain glory in the arena!
*Note! We limit the number of duel requests players can send out and receive a day to avoid spam. The exact number is subject to change as we see what works.
Death:
Death is not permanent! It can however result in a failed quest depending on the quest you were pursuing. Resurrection stones that vary in strength can as the name implies resurrect you. This means if in the middle of combat you go down you can choose to use a stone to revive yourself instead. Common stones that revive you to half health can be bought in stores, rare ones that return you to full health are only able to be found in dungeon crawls or higher-level exploration. If you're out of stones and die you'll return to your current region's town with a loss in some of your gold to cover dragging your body back.
