These large, beetle-like creatures, about the size of a man's palm, are known as Scale Mites. Typically docile, they have adapted to live on the bodies of Umbra, diligently cleaning their scales of detritus. Though not inherently dangerous, Scale Mites possess a unique adaptation: they have a degree of elemental resistance and can create a small spark of elemental damage with their bite. However, with the death of their host Umbra, these creatures are growing desperate and hungry, making them more aggressive and willing to attack adventurers in search of sustenance.
