Its insatiable hunger for fey magic drives it to consume any fey creatures in its path, distorting their magic and leaving them defenseless against its onslaught. Despite its overwhelming power, the Runic Terror is not invincible. It is relentlessly hunted by the guardians of the deep, fierce protectors of the Fey realm who crave the creature's own unique brand of magic and flesh. These guardians stand as the last line of defense against the Runic Terror's destructive influence, tirelessly patrolling the rivers and swamps to keep the fey creatures safe from harm. Because of this guardian the Runic Terror has actually formed a symbiotic relationship with a small aquatic fey that inhabits the same waters. This fey, known as the Siren Wing, has the unique ability to sense the approach of the guardian that hunts the Runic Terror, and it warns the cephalopod of the danger. In return for this warning, the Runic Terror allows the Siren Wing to feed on the scraps of magical residue left behind after it consumes its prey.
