Found on most coastal beach shores throughout Veargreum, Mako Mutts are small, cartilaginous scavengers that stand around 2 feet high and weigh roughly 30 pounds. These fascinating creatures have adapted to thrive both in and out of water, thanks to their ability to breathe in both environments. Over time, their four pectoral fins have evolved into modified legs ending in webbed toes, allowing them to move swiftly on land and in water.

The most striking feature of the Mako Mutt is its three identical heads. Despite appearances, only one head is real; the other two are decoys, capable of simple motor functions but nothing more. This clever adaptation helps the Mako Mutt evade predators like the Tidal Crab, which can be confused about which head to target, giving the Mutt a chance to escape.

Harmless to humanoids, Mako Mutts primarily feed on small fish in shallow waters or tide pools, as well as Caramel Candy Slugs. They are often seen scavenging for food left behind by other beach-dwelling animals or humanoids, making them a common and endearing sight along the shores of Veargreum.
