Emerging from the depths of the Nimbus Sea is the intriguing Helium Fish. This sizable creature is initially born with functional wings, but as it matures, they become nearly vestigial. It exclusively consumes the clouds within its habitat for food and to stay afloat. The clouds have particulates that it filters. With porous skin, it gradually releases the stored vapors as it floats, but also possesses the capability to intentionally release them in excess, enabling a controlled descent lower into the cloud sea. Typically drifting among the clouds guided by the wind, these creatures also exhibit a degree of steering ability through a small tail that functions as a rudimentary rudder. Though, now they’re often seen as tamed guides for tourists, used as something like a hot air balloon, these majestic creatures once ruled the high clouds of the Nimbus Sea.
