Grime Gobblers are small, sausage-shaped oozes commonly found slithering through the streets of cities, feeding on the filth and grime that accumulates in urban environments. Their presence serves as an unintentional barometer of a city’s cleanliness—where these creatures thrive in great numbers or grow to unusual sizes, it is often a sign of neglect and decay.

Despite their usefulness in consuming waste, Grime Gobblers pose a serious health risk. These oozes are immune to disease but act as living carriers, spreading pathogens to any creature they come into contact with. The smallest of them, no larger than a worm, typically transmit mild illnesses such as colds or fevers. However, as they grow, so too does the severity of the diseases they harbor. Large specimens are known to carry—and even incubate—lethal plagues, as their bodies serve as breeding grounds where countless bacteria and viruses mix, sometimes creating entirely new strains of disease.

Because of this, most cities enforce strict regulations on the transport of Grime Gobblers, making it illegal to bring those above a certain size within city limits. While some alchemists and scholars study these oozes in controlled environments, reckless handling of an oversized Grime Gobbler could spell disaster, unleashing an epidemic upon an unsuspecting populace.

This CR1/8 creature is called a Grime Gobbler and is an Ooze that lives mostly within the Urban.
