Inhabiting the Screaming Sands region of the Dawning Dunes desert lurks an apex predator whos size and strenght moves the very sand dunes. The Desert Shifter uses its vibrating frontal horn to part the sand infront of itself, allowing it to burrow through the sand at quick speeds despite its large size. When hunting the Shifter uses its thermal vision to look for large prey living on the sand above before bursting out of the surface and delivering a devastating bite. Struggle as the prey might the Shifters mouth is equipped with long thin fangs that deliver a paralyzing venom turning even strong prey items defenseless as they are dragged below the sand. This Umbra typically avoids eating humanoids as they do not posses enough nutrition for the effort to be worth it. Leading some humanoids to even coexist near Shifter Dens, using old burrows as mine shafts or tunnels. However, be warned if you cross one they will hunt you down out of pure revenge. If looking to avoid a Shifter traveling the desert at night is your best option, as Shifters tend to be more active during the day and go deeper below the sands or into their dens at night to avoid the cold.
